Events assistant
Events assistants assist with the organisation of our high level Policy Summits, ‘Café Crossfire’ debates, roundtables and reports.
Responsibilities include:
• Conducting research on potential speakers and drafting of participants’ database
• Coordination of internal logistics for the event
• Communication with speakers and participants
• Production of events publications
• Supporting the organisation of evening debates, conferences and dinner debates
Desired Profile:
• Fluency in spoken & written English essential
• French and other languages are an asset
• Knowledge of current EU affairs & issues
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent social skills
• Superior computer skills with very good knowledge of Word and Excel
• Proven web skills
• University degree or equivalent
• Experience in organising events is an asset
WEB Communications assistant
Friends of Europe is seeking an energetic individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a full-time web communications assistant with the communications team. For a minimum period of 6 months and with a focus on Friends of Europe‘s website, the position will also include the review of publications, identification of and outreach to key media and non-media stakeholders, day-to-day assistance with the maintenance of our website and the running of our high-level events.
The ideal candidate should be organised, with strong attention to detail, possess excellent computer skills and be able to work both independently and in a team while completing tasks quickly without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
Responsibilities include:
• Updating and monitoring the Friends of Europe website, both in terms of content and functionality
• Acting as the central contact point for all internal website queries
• Producing and editing (including layout and format) Friends of Europe’s main publications (newsletter, reports, etc.)
• Daily news monitoring
• Co-ordinating and editing Friends of Europe advertisements
• Detailed update and research for media contacts for all upcoming events
Required profile:
• Experience with web editing, e.g. HTML/XML, or the ability to pick up this knowledge quickly
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Publisher and Photoshop
• A good eye for design and layout, and attention to detail
• Fluency in spoken & written English
• Proven communications and language skills
• University degree or equivalent
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and to pick up new skills quickly
Desirable skills:
• Knowledge of EU affairs and international economic affairs
• French and/or other languages
• Experience in event organisation
