APRODEV is recruiting an intern to support the Middle East policy officer in the organisation of the activities of the Middle East working group and the implementation of the MEWG advocacy strategy.

The internship’s duration is six month. The payment is in accordance with Belgian legal standards.

Tasks:
The intern will assist the Middle East policy officer in:
•Monitoring EU/UN policies in relations with Israel and the OPT
•Monitoring developments in Israel and the OPT connected to advocacy priorities of the MEWG
•Developing communication tools directed at the MEWG, EU institutions, international/European NGOs and partners
•Participating in various meetings, note-taking and preparation of meeting reports;
•Supporting and coordinating advocacy initiatives with like-minded organisations in Brussels and EU Member States
•Drafting of statements, press releases, policy notes
•Increasing coordination and cooperation between members of the MEWG
•Running the day-to-day work at the office

Qualifications:
•University degree in law, political or social science. Other similar qualifications may also be considered;
•Knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions and the External relations of the EU
•Knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and international human rights and humanitarian law;
•Interest in civil society organisation work;
•Languages: Excellent written and spoken English as well as knowledge of French;
•Very strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Joomla);
•The intern should be self-motivated, well organized and able to work fast and keep deadlines.
