Responsible for the shop’s operation in an orderly fashion both on commercial and administration level by focusing on maximizing Sales and Profitability.
Key Accountabilities
Operations
- Monitors the shop’s functionality – and proposes suggestions for its improvement – according to the instructions given by the Operations Department in order to achieve Company’s goals
- Responsible for executing decisions taken by the General Management and in accordance to the association of articles
- Coordinates and supervises the shop’s operation, bearing the responsibility for guiding employees, towards meeting the working standards
- Responsible for preparing the annual Budget, monitoring sales’ performance and providing appropriate explanations for any deviations from budget while at the same time proposing corrective actions
- Constantly monitors the return on sales and the stock’s movement
- Responsible for dealing and collaborating with Public Sector Services and Organizations, in order to ensure the daily operation of the shop
Customers
- Promotes quality of customer service among staff through training and by acting as a positive role model
- Creates seamless customer service by making every effort to find merchandises for customers even if an item is out of stock
People
- Responsible for the creation of a pleasant working environment, producing team spirit and meritocracy
- Maintains staff levels that allow for the best possible customer level
- Executes performance evaluations and goal assessments based on guidelines set by HR Department
- Prepares the work schedule to ensure that the shop’s goals will be met through appropriate planning and organization of staff, and manages absenteeism and health standards in accordance with the guidelines provided by the HR department
- Holds weekly staff meetings and submits reports to Region Manager
Monitoring effectiveness and KPIs
- Formulates, in conjunction with the Region Manager, the fiscal revenue, expense and profit goals, as well as the inventory levels within the shop
- Ensures that goals will be met through appropriate planning and staff organization, and by making aware of sales targets
- Reviews the shop’s progress on a weekly – monthly basis with the Region Manager
Specific Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business related subject or other social science
- Strong Leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and motivate employees
- Knowledge of effective merchandise presentation standards
- Good problem solving skills
- Fluency both in Greek and English; additional languages would be an asset
- Computer literacy and excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Work schedule flexibility
- Knowledge of the travel retail industry would be an asset
Experience Required
- Proven track record of at least 5 years retail experience of which 3 years at a managerial / supervisory rol
