The IHU LLM in Transnational and European Commercial Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution intake is every October.
This programme puts forward a genuinely transnational and European perspective. It offers a highly flexible qualification suitable for a wide range of career openings in many sectors. It is addressed to recent graduates and qualified lawyers seeking to pursue a career in international, EU and transnational commercial law, company law, capital markets law, financial law and alternative dispute resolution, as well as to national regulators and public officer.

The LL.M. programme emphasizes on learning how cross-border business activities, companies and financial markets are regulated and how alternative dispute resolution is conducted. It is designed to offer students a thorough understanding of theory and practice in three functionally interdependent areas of law: Transnational Commercial Law, European Economic Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution (arbitration and mediation).

Some of the courses of the LL.M. are: European Economic Law | Transnational Commercial Law | International Commercial Arbitration | Recognition and Enforcement of international arbitral awards | Energy Charter Treaty | Legal Aspects of International Finance | Economic Analysis of Law | International and EU Tax Law | European Labor & Employment Law | Intellectual Property Law – Innovation, Technology and Patent Law.

To be considered for the LL.M. at the IHU, candidates are required to have:
· a good university degree in a relevant subject from a recognised University
· proof of English competence [a recognised certificate of Proficiency, or recently acquired IELTS (7 and above), or TOEFL (IBT, 100 and above), or TOEIC (900 and above) SCORE]
· two academic references
A personal interview may be required.

To apply for the LL.M., you will need to provide the following documents:
– a completed application form, including personal statement (500 words)
– a certified copy of your degree certificate, and transcripts detailing the courses studied and grades attained
– two references: one from an academic and one from your employer. Both referees should have direct knowledge of your suitability for THE MSc study
– two recent passport-size photographs
– your English language test score report
– your CV (resume)
