In collaboration with our analysts (based in Belgium) you will develop and
support state-of-the-art, data-driven applications to support our processes and publications.
You are responsible for:
– coding, enhancing, debugging and testing new and existing web-based applications
– finding creative, powerful algorithms that store, process, index, enhance, convert, … publishing data and metadata
– careful following the analyses and requirement-studies of the analysts and project managers, while providing intelligent feedback on the proposed
solutions
– supporting an enthusiastic team of publishing managers and analysts, with diverse skills, that are working to build the best possible tools for our internal and external customers.
Your Profile:
– solid training in Computer Sciences, IT-professional in heart and soul
– analytic mind capable of adapting to multiple user environments and an affinity for the integration of databases and applications
– flexible, ready for self-study, diligent team player with the skills to work individually and to finish projects autonomously
– knowledge of and experience with XML/XSL, HTML, CSS and web services in combination with Unicode; Xpath experience is a plus
– familiar with ASP.NET, C# and the .NET framework
– familiar with client/server database systems (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, …). Experience with Oracle PL/SQL is a plus
– a passion for development and Internet technologies, but with an interest in history, languages, …
– good language skills (English is a must; knowledge of French, German or Dutch is a plus)
