The IHU MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies intake is every October.
The programme offers a critical and multifarious study of the Black Sea region, from ancient history and archaeology to contemporary art and modern economy. The Black Sea region is an area of particular importance for the Eurasian region, due to its strategic location and abundance in natural resources.

The MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies provides specialised education in demanding areas of interest such as Archaeology, History, Ethnography, Historical Geography, Art, Religion, Mythology, Politics, Diplomacy and Economy. The aim is to enhance interreligious and inter-cultural relations between different societies of Southeastern Europe.
Our graduates will be able to work in: Educational and research institutes and academies all over the world dealing with the Black Sea region – Archaeological services, especially in the Black Sea countries (and also in Greece), or foreign archaeological missions in those countries – Museums, galleries and other places of collection, study and exhibition of works of art, especially from this region – The Diplomatic Corps or other state services – Businesses which operate or have interests in the Black Sea region.

Some of the courses of the MA are: Historical geography and cartography of the Black Sea (ancient and medieval period) | Historical geography of the Black Sea (modern and contemporary period) | Archaeology – Monumental topography of the Black Sea region | Ancient history of the Black Sea region | Medieval history of the Black Sea region | Modern and contemporary history of the Black Sea countries | Contemporary ethnographic issues of the Black Sea | Ancient art in the Black Sea region | Medieval art in the Black Sea region | Modern art and architecture in the Black Sea region.

Κριτήρια: To be considered for the MA, at the IHU, candidates are required to have:
· a good university degree in a relevant subject from a recognised University
· proof of English competence [a recognised certificate of Proficiency, or recently acquired IELTS (7 and above), or TOEFL (IBT, 100 and above), or TOEIC (900 and above) SCORE]
· two academic references
A personal interview may be required.

Δικαιολογητικά:  To apply for the MA, you will need to provide the following documents:
· a completed application form, including personal statement (500 words)
· a certified copy of your degree certificate, and transcripts detailing the courses studied and grades attained
· two references: one from an academic and one from your employer. Both referees should have direct knowledge of your suitability for THE MSc study
· two recent passport-size photographs
· your English language test score report
· your CV (resume).
