Salary The trainee grant is €1,050 per month plus an accommodation allowance.

You will be part of the Compliance and Governance (CGO) Division in the Directorate General

Secretariat. The CGO Division supports the Executive Board in protecting the integrity and reputation

of the ECB, by promoting ethical standards of behaviour within the institution and by strengthening its

accountability and transparency.

In the area of compliance, the CGO Division is responsible for:

(i) implementing the ECB’s ethics

regime and contributing to its development by conducting regular reviews and benchmarking

exercises to ensure it remains up to date;

(ii) taking the necessary measures to promote and monitor

compliance with the ECB’s ethics regime, including the conduct of training and the provision of

individual advice and guidance;

(iii) supporting the enhancement and harmonisation of ethics and

compliance standards within the Eurosystem and the Single Supervisory Mechanism;

(iv) performing

the secretary function for the ECB’s Ethics Committee;

(v) supporting the Adviser in charge of

anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing matters; and

(vi) supporting the Director General Secretariat with regard to fraud and corruption matters.

In the area of governance, the CGO Division is responsible for:

(i) developing and implementing the

ECB’s regime for access to documents and conducting regular reviews to ensure that it remains up to

date;

(ii) coordinating requests and queries received from the European Ombudsman; and

(iii) performing the secretary function for the ECB’s Audit Committee.

As a trainee in the CGO teams you will:

conduct research and benchmarking exercises on best practices of other central banks and

international financial institutions, either in the area of ethics and compliance, in particular with

regard to ethical standards, or in the area of transparency and good governance, in particular

with regard to contacts with external parties;

monitor and report on current developments in the fields of ethics/compliance or

governance/transparency at the national and EU levels;

gradually take over day-to-day first-level responsibility for operational tasks.

You are curious and eager to learn, and want to further develop your ability to analyse complex

information. You are keen to collaborate with others, pursue team goals and learn from other people’s

diverse perspectives. You strive to know and anticipate stakeholder needs, and will signal any need

for change and propose alternative solutions.
